International peer support group for parents

PAUT’s international peer support group offers a warm and welcoming place for parents and family members of autistic and other neurodivergent children to meet, share experiences and talk about everyday life, its challenges and its joys.

The meetings take place in the indoor facilities of Playground Brahe in Helsinki. PAUT’s volunteer Iiman is hosting the group.

Who is the group for?

The peer support group is intended for international families with an autistic or otherwise neurodivergent child. Parents and other family members are warmly welcome to join.

You can participate regardless of whether your child has a diagnosis. No previous experience of peer support groups is needed, you can simply come as you are.

The group offers an opportunity to meet people in similar life situations, share experiences and receive peer support from other families.

Peer support group language

The main language of the group is English, but discussions can also take place in Finnish and, when possible, in other languages shared by the participants.

You can participate in the discussion as much or as little as you like. You are also very welcome to simply listen.

Where and when?

In autumn 2026, the meetings will be held in the indoor facilities of Playground Brahe on Sundays from 1 pm to 3 pm:

27.9.| 25.10. | 29.11.

Playground Brahe is centrally located in Helsinki, close to Sörnäinen metro station. The playground has comfortable indoor and outdoor facilities, and families are welcome to bring their children along.

The meetings are free of charge.

Children are welcome

Children are welcome to join the meetings with their parent or another responsible adult. Please note that no childcare is provided during the meetings.

A safe and relaxed meeting place

We want to create a peer support group where every family can feel comfortable being themselves. You do not have to speak or actively participate in the discussion – everyone can take part in a way that feels comfortable for them.

We follow safer-space principles in all our activities.
